Several websites offer tools and activities to help students evaluate primary source materials, as well as the credibility of sources (especially websites).  Thanks to the school librarians of the Rockwood, Missouri Teaching American History Grant for many of these suggestions:

 

Document Analysis Worksheets from the National Archives

Printable worksheets that focus analyze on a wide variety of primary sources.

 

Primary Source Tutorial

Geared toward Yale University Library users, this tutorial offers helpful information in "What are primary sources?" and a breakdown of the different types of primary sources.

 

21st Century Information Fluency Project

Includes a variety of tools to help increase information literacy.

 

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: or Why Its a Good Idea to Evaluate Web Sources

Site from the New Mexico State University librarians, which includes examples of reliable and unreliable sources.
